Everything should be well above the storm surge.

My house is usually fine - we have pretty dense stands of young trees in the neighborhood which help shield from wind. (Though the Yankees have been bulldozing them for McMansions but mine should be OK)

Sounded a bit like an airplane was flying overhead for a bit, but should be alright.

Predicted to peak at 7PM, but we are within range of what most things are built for, here.

Apparently that "airplane" sound was a very weak tornado a bit closer than I liked...

And now that's it's all over, we've lost power for a bit. Got another couple hours before its time for wailing and gnashing of teeth...

And we're boned. As long as we are stuck with the fascist public/private partnership power company, this shouldn't be a surprise.

Somehow, they screwed up and lost a transmission line. Supposedly because a tree hit it. Which is total garbage for a, barely, category 1 hurricane.

All the friends and family I have in FL made it through ok... I have a couple of FB contacts that have had to deal with some flooding in north east FL though.
