Diesel has stayed the same though. Constantly over $5.

When gas was around $2 here, diesel was actually about $0.05 to $0.10 lower for about three months. Now it is at least $1.00 higher.

Diesel here still hovers around $4.85-5.00 a gallon. I suspect it's due to the tax holiday, I don't think it covers diesel.
Also winter is coming, and home heating oil these days is basically diesel these days...
Meanwhile, with summer over, gas prices continue to fall - Costco just dropped to $3.63/gallon. I fully expect the cheap local station to close the gap in the next week or so.

$3.69 at my usual gas spot right now in central IL. Up from $3.42 on Saturday.
I went to my old college town in southern IL for a football game on Saturday as well and it was $3.99 there.
Diesel is around $5.15.
