Reinoehl became a good communist, though it might have been nice to take him alive and wring him dry.

U.S. Marshalls. Interstate fugitive apprehension is one of their main jobs. In this case, it was mostly deputized local law enforcement.

I lived in Lacey, where they got him, for 5 years. It amuses me that the news stories keep saying 'near Seattle'. Apparently they don't trust their readers to know the location of Olympia, the state capital, which Lacey is directly adjacent to. Seattle is 60 miles and two counties away.
