8.6 million NICS transactions
112,000 denials
13,000 ATF investigations
12 prosecutions
I got the numbers from the GAO website.
So, tell me again why we need more gun laws if we don't enforce the ones that we already have?
There's about a 10% chance the ATF will investigate a NICS denial. There's less than 1/10 of 1% chance of one of those investigations resulting in a prosecution.

The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.

Re: 2017 NICS Denial Prosecution Numbers
One question I have about the denials is how many were false positives that were later determined to be eligible after a closer look?
...even before I read MHI, my response to seeing a poster for the stars of the latest Twilight movies was "I see 2 targets and a collaborator".

Exactly. According to my friend, a gunsmith, the majority of the time, it's just a hiccup.

I found the 2016 FBI NICS report.
30,000 or so people have received UPINs.
I found this OIG report.
It's hard to find statistics about how many NICS transactions later result in approvals.
