I hope they budgeted for lots of legal costs: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-04- ... -or-become
Residents in Deerfield, Illinois have 60 days to surrender their “assault weapons” or face fines of $1000 per day per gun.

Actually, I hope they don't.

I hope they have to cut budgets for streets, police and fire with layoffs for non-public safety staff.

Stupid should hurt.

It should, but I figure it's 50/50 that SCOTUS punts if it gets there.

I think they already let stand a similar ban in that circuit.

Might there be an entrepreneurial opportunity here? Storage facility near the city but outside their jurisdiction where owners can store their firearms until this is this overturned (judicially or electorally)?

And there could be a major payday for the lawyers if the city tried to prosecute people for owning items legal in their storage location but not "legal" to possess within the city's jurisdiction.

The next group photo of those pieces of shit should be in the street with them covered in tar and feathers by their constituents.

If this fails to enlighten them, further escalation of action to be applied until enlightenment ensues or they're ended.

Won't happen, but it should.
