School lies again: https://hotair.com/archives/2018/05/07/ ... e-program/
Broward school district officials admitted Sunday that the confessed Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School gunman was assigned to a controversial disciplinary program, after the superintendent repeatedly claimed Nikolas Cruz had “no connection” to the alternative punishment designed to limit on-campus arrests.

Well, they didn't LIE...they just constructed their statement so as to obscure the embarassing truth.

The supe said that Cruz wasn't enrolled in the PROMISE program in high school. Which was true, as far as it went.

Cruz was enrolled in the program in MIDDLE school.

Zombie thread, back from the dead.

Also back in the news: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2019-06- ... g-faces-11
Former Broward Sheriff's deputy Scot Peterson, 56, has been arrested and charged over his failure to act during the Valentine's Day mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School last year.

Peterson, who was the armed school resource officer at the time, faces seven counts of neglect of a child, three counts of culpable negligence and one count of perjury according to a Tuesday statement by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. He was booked into the Broward County main jail, and could face up to 97 years in state prison if convicted, according to the Sun-Sentinel, which noted that his bond was reportedly set at $102,000.
I'd like to see this go to the Supremes, but he'll probably cop a plea deal, allow himself to be publicly pilloried, give up part of his pension, and leave town.

The reason I'd like to see this go to the Supremes, is because the Supremes have ruled numerous times that the police have no legal responsibility to provide anyone with protection, including this egregious example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warren_v. ... f_Columbia

Having a public set of trials will help shut-up the people who say "you don't need a gun, the police will protect you."
