Colorado Theater Shooter Convicted On All Counts

Post by mekender »

166 felony counts to include 24 counts of 1st degree murder, 140 counts of attempted first degree murder, 1 count of possessing an illegal explosive device, 1 sentence enhancement of a crime of violence.

To me, that alone should be enough to put the idea of gun control to rest forever... If the possibility of facing 166 felonies, among them the single most seriously punished crime on the books in the US, is not enough to deter such an act, what possible law could be passed that would deter it?

I have literally asked it this way to lefties "The Colorado movie theater shooter was convicted of 166 felonies, what law would you pass that would make someone who was not afraid to commit that many felonies not want to do is act?"

Of course that results in stammering and sidestepping...

But there you have it, in a nutshell (pun intended) a perfect example of how gun control cannot possibly work.

The answer, of course, would be: "If those guns were not available to them they couldn't commit the crime."
If time, chance and random process can produce a platypus why not an ammo tree?

I had a half-brother who was an addict. At one time he explained that most of the drugs were coming through Houston for Texas.
He laughed at gun control. He stated that it was a triangle trade. Money could get you drugs or guns. You could trade guns for drugs or money, you could trade drugs for money or guns. He died recently when he stopped breathing from an overdose.

Gun sales have doubled under the Obama reign.

I seem to detect a trend in the failure of the insanity defense failing for a lot of felons.

So, anybody going to bet against me when I say that he's a dead man, when sentencing rolls around? (Assuming he makes it that far.)

He's intelligent enough to drive a car and operate a gun, so, he probably could find a copy of the Improvised Explosive Handbook and make boom-booms. Apparently he already did.

IEDS. So easy that a cavemen can do it.
The avalanche has already started. It is too late for the pebbles to vote.
