Old Johnny Cash song

Post by toad »

I'm trying to remember the title and all the lyrics. I know it had
"The man on the left was on the right, the man on the right was on the left, and the man in the middle ....burned his drivers license."
It was Cash's objection to politicizing music back in the 1960's IIRC.

It's from the album "Everybody Loves a Nut" and the song is called "The One on the Right was on the Left". Written by Jack Clements.

I used to have that album, back when we dodged velociraptors on the way to school.

The chorus was (which changed on the last line after every verse)
The one on the right was on the left,
and the one in the middle was on the right,
and the one on the left was in the middle,
and the guy in the rear was a Methodist

Now I remember, we had to dodge the dino's in gym class.
Pity the SJW's can't learn from history.
