Sounds familiar.

Me: Are you SURE that's what the user wants?

Project Manager: Yes, that's what they want.

How about (situation ABC which seems ought to be handled differently).

No, situation ABC should be handled the way described in the specs.

OK (spend six weeks coding, unit testing and QA testing changes. Move into Production)

Two weeks after implementation:

Project Manager: We have to make another change, situation ABC isn't being handled properly.

Me: Headdesk.
