Here's a set I always liked, the twelve golden rules of living:

If you open it, close it.

If you turn it on, turn it off.

If you unlock it, lock it up.

If you break it, admit it.

If you can't fix it, call in someone who can.

If you borrow it, return it.

If you value it, take care of it.

If you make a mess, clean it up.

If you move it, put it back.

If it belongs to someone else, get permission to use it.

If you don't know how to operate it, leave it alone.

If it's none of your business, don't ask questions.

I agree with the above, but I can simplify my list, I think....

BELIEVE what you believe!!!

STAND for that which you believe, no matter the cost!!!!!

I know its 'cliche', but it is the truth for me,,,,

I'd rather DIE on my feet(standing for what I BELIEVE), than LIVE on my knees(in surrender)!!!!!

I can't say that I've lived up to this perfectly, but I do try.
Rudyard Kipling wrote: If

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream -- and not make dreams your master;
If you can think -- and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings -- nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run --
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And -- which is more -- you'll be a Man, my son!

if she says that she is 21 but she looks 18... she is 14 and you should card her.

if she says that she is 24 but she looks 35... she is damn near 40...

If a line's worth drawing in the sand,
chisel it in stone.
Oh, the heads that turn
Make my back burn
And those heads that turn
Make my back, make my back burn

Your name is the most precious thing you have. Nobody can take it from you, and only you can destroy it. And it's nearly irreparable.

Work rule:
There are two ways of doing things.
The hard way and the easy way.
Either way, I'm going home at the end of the shift.
You may not. :twisted:

Home rules:
Do it right the first time, it takes too long to fix it again.

Applies to both:
Do the right thing even when nobody's looking,
Because someones always looking.
