Phrases in the media that no one says

Post by workinwifdakids »

I'm really tired of phrases and words the media says, but real people never say.

- speaking out

- breaking their silence

- embattled

I'm not talking about errors in grammar. I'm talking about trendy nonsense language that they think is 'loaded' with emotion, but intelligent people just smirk at.
And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.

Speaking truth to power.

Yeah. As Anne Coulter said, "if you got a standing ovation you didn't speak truth to power."
The use of the word "but" usually indicates that everything preceding it in a sentence is a lie.
E.g.:
"I believe in Freedom of Speech, but". . .
"I support the Second Amendment, but". . .
