I knew Bob Menendez would win in NJ even if they had to count 165% of the votes to make it happen. I'm sure both my parents voted for him despite (1) they've both been dead over 30 years, (2) Dad moved out of NJ in 1960 and (3) Mom NEVER lived in NJ.

Political corruption, pork roll, and Great Adventure, things NJ is known w for. Of those the only one i have any use for is pork roll.

Looking forward to moving too.

It really is a Jersey specific thing, and it really is good.

I saw that on TV at the barber shop. I don't expect she'll ever give up her seat. At least, on purpose.

I'm potentially being offered the chance to attend a conference for an important piece of software I use at work.

Conference is in Manhattan.

I have seriously mixed emotions.

Picture of a 3 axis machine I took Wednesday in DMG Moro's showroom.

Lotta machine for the money - 30hp direct drive spindle, scales instead of encoders, externally accessible toolchanger - price starts on that model at 99k.

I have a Supertuck and an IWB mag carrier from Crossbreed. I went with the horsehide cause I sweat. I like them, even more now that I've got the Supertuck adjusted to a height and cant that work well for me.

But they creak like crazy. Or they did.

Some folks mentioned online that they had the same problem and an application of beeswax did the trick.

I happen to have beeswax in the form of Sno Seal. So I applied that, as instructed. And now no more creaks at all.

Kolaches are good.

There's a kolache place not too far from where I work. Was curious for a while, finally tried it. Wow. Like central European dim sum, and I mean that in the best way.

(Yes the store refers to both sweet and savory items as kolaches, if there are any Bohemian pedants out there don't bother me.)
