Less than two weeks. Then I can start bugging the ATF and they might know something.

This weekend was the first time I CC'ed *outside* my house. Pocket carried the LCP2. Easy as pie, I rather enjoyed it. Like taking Calm pills.

Finally sorted out my truck capacity problem. We unloaded the toy hauler trailer last fall since w/o AC in the back it really didn't work for putting kids down in there. Then later in the fall we sold our Expedition and purchased a 2003 F150 King Ranch. No payments - YAY! Then this spring we ended up buying another RV trailer. For a litany of reasons, I didn't have all the right numbers when looking up both the empty weight and total capacity of the new rig, AND was looking on the wrong year (2004 vs 2003) Ford Towing Guide.

Long story short, even with airbags, I had a trailer with a 9,900lb GVWR, and a truck rated to tow 7,600lbs. Legality aside, we could reasonably pull the rig when loaded for camping trips. However, at some point, the Army is going to tell us to move again, and for a PCS we have to take All. The. Things. At which point, we're going to be a good bit past the rated capacity on the truck.

After a week or so of searching, SWMBO wanted to be DONE, so last night we ended up with a 1-owner '08 F250 FX4 SuperCrew with the 6.4 diesel. By FAR the cleanest truck we looked at, and with a camper shell so we can banish the dogs to the back for road trips (with the sliders open and AC/heat blasting). I AM aware of the EGR/DPF issues with these things, and will work my way through them, and I will miss the 600-watt amp and sub under the rear seat, and that lack of a payment thing, but I'll live.

We kept the 150 so we can sell it outright, instead of getting totally hosed on trade-in, so I wasn't completely stupid on the finance front this time. Not my best truck negotiation, but I don't feel like I got screwed, so that's something.

Well, if you're not really willing to spend the money to buy one of those rifles, then you'll also probably never spend the money to go someplace where you'll need one, so you shouldn't get too upset about not having bought the rifle.

What does "need" have to do with anything?

Its more a case of inconvenient timing, like the 2008 suburban 2500 for sale in Delaware i found on craigslist for 18k. I cant tie up that much money right now.
