I signed up for Gpal in an attempt to get paid on a Gunbroker auction sooner than waiting for a money order. I didn't realize I had to link a checking account and have been unsuccessful in linking the Gpal account to my savings account. I figured I'd have them cut me a check but don't see how on the website and haven't heard back from them by email or by phone.
That said, can I get my Gpal money into my paypal account somehow? Maybe by invoicing myself? Any ideas?

Re: Gpal question
I have no knowledge, but I would be quite surprised if PayPal and G(un)pal would do business with one another. In any case, you'd be paying the fees twice.
Does someone you would trust to receive the funds for you have a checking account you could use?

Re: Gpal question
I had the same though about the competitors, but didn't know if there was some end-around.
I could connect my own checking account, but my wife is not happy about it. She is tolerant of guns in general, but gets testy when it enters one of her spheres (eg the check book).

Perhaps open another account just for this? At least over here, there are plenty of online-only banks that don't charge account fees, as long as you stay in the black.Durham68 wrote:I could connect my own checking account, but my wife is not happy about it. You could also just ask. They will mail you a check or even link to a credit card sometimes. Customer service is very friendly.

Re: Gpal question
I had to ask three times over the course of a week to get any response at all. When they did reply, I was informed that they do not offer checks as a method of withdrawal (the user agreement says they do). I went ahead an tried to link another account and received an email that they are temporarily unable to process because they are changing banking partners after the first one flaked out. So I will wait some more.CombatController wrote:You could also just ask. They will mail you a check or even link to a credit card sometimes. Customer service is very friendly.
They haven't done anything particularly wrong, but it really shouldn't be this difficult. I am looking forward to them working all the kinks out. I bet they are thinking the same.

Isn't the guy who owns Gpal an active member of CalGuns? You could post a question for him over there.
Oh, and if you need to take Denis' suggestion, well... I don't know how to say this without sounding like a Nigerian scammer, so I'll just say it. You can send the funds through my account if there's no associated fee, and I'll get the money back to you. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who will volunteer if you know someone here better.

And may I say, from a moral point of view, I think there can be no justification for shoving snack cakes up your action.

I already sent Ben Cannon a PM through one of the forums I was already a member of. If it goes on much longer, I will try him at Calguns.
I really appreciate the offer to use your account, but I am at the point where I really want to see this work out the right way and without taking any more hits on fees (It would cost another ~$10 to funnel it through your account). It's kind of like when I listen to 'Benny and the Jets' or 'Big Shot' all the way through out of sheer disbelief that it won't get any better soon. Unlike those songs, this has to get better soon.
Edit: BTW I saw a $10 Sigma magazine (10 rounder) at the local shop last week, but it was a .40 cal. I'll keep looking.

Re: Gpal question
I've got my Gpal account linked up to a credit card to accept funds. I got the "Buy now" buttons installed all over my website on Friday afternoon, and nobody has made a purchase yet, so I can't tell you if it works and where that money goes when somebody pays it. Life is an adventure, I suppose.
