Star Trek Continues

Post by Johnnyreb »

Came across this site too. A group of people, a 10k square foot building filled with sets as authentic as they can get them. And 6 new full length Star Trek episodes, done as faithfully to the original Star Trek as they can get it. Sure the guy playing Kirk doesn't sound just like Shatner, but if he did it would risk becoming a parody. And they do have Doohan's son playing Scotty.

They tried to get it all right to the original and I think they have, even the camera work, how people look on screen, is right. Thank you internet, this never would have happened with you.

The people who own Star Trek ought to give this bunch some funding and let the produce a couple of seasons worth of episodes. It would give the Sci-fi channel something to run in place of all that ghost hunting crap.

Unfortunately, the people that "own" Star Trek are too busy suing the ST:Axanar folks. They clearly don't want to support fan productions any more.

One of the Mythbusters is playing Sulu. Nice.

And the voice of the ship's computer is the lady who played Counselor Troy on the Next Generation.

edit: Just watched Axanar. I really hope they can get their feature length film done.

Said fan productions which remind us of TOG would be taking away revenue from the reboots, which is what Hollywood wants you to think about Star Trek.
My only question is what previously told story from the Star Trek universe is the new Star Trek reboot going to re-tell? Notice "Into Darkness" was pretty much a rip-off of "Wrath of Khan", simply replacing the scenery-chewing actors of yesteryear with folks whose talent is on par with the green screens they
work with.

Yea, my review of "Into Darkness" was pretty much that, a horrible non-original remake by Jar Jar Abrams. Axanar comes along with an original story to tell, and the lawyers are sicced on them. It's asinine.

Appears as though the lawsuit against Axanar has been dropped.

Yea, I was quite happy when I saw that announced. Finally some common sense prevails. I'm looking forward to the film.
