But the business that a company like Google is in, the way they make their money.... If you think you hate your cable company and your cell phone network provider, Google hates them MUCH more than you do.
If you can reach people directly, you can do business with them directly and make money from them directly, without middlemen getting in the way and either sucking up all the profits or blocking you completely. Everyone with the means to do so (and who isn't an entrenched middleman themselves) is looking to achieve disintermediation.
Google wants to kill the cable and cellular middlemen. Musk, just for starters, wants to kill the car dealer network.
