Well, it's off to a rollicking start, even if I am working nights this week. Already heard from three of my bestest girls (Th' Darlin' Daughter, and Senior Minions #1 & 2). SM#1 has not missed a birthday or Veteran's Day since she was 10 years old. My mom might forget my birthday, but my granddaughter won't!

Spent Saturday at the range with The Minions (all four of them, now!) turning gunpowder into noise. SM#1 did a great job, delivering (off a sandbagged rest on a solid bench) a sub-2-inch group, CTC. From 300 yards. (I'm gonna hafta get bigger hats for both of us!) All of them did well, and the newest Minion seems to be coming along nicely with her Marlin .30-30. I believe she's ready for deer season this fall.

They went through all my practice ammo for the 1911's, as well as the D/A .357 revolvers, and the youngest Minion went through over 50 rounds of the "Jenny Load" .45 Colt, and tried to slide the birds-head Vaquero into her gun case before we left the range. (Gotta get her's finished!). She bears watching, at all times!

And then, the little twerps insisted on taking ME out to dinner, for my birthday! Went to a local steakhouse (they know me, these Minions!) and had a great time! They wouldn't even let me leave the tip, they insisted on paying for everything.

Best weekend I've had in a mort of years!

So, The Minions decided that I needed a new gun for my birthday, something totally different than anything in the gun safe.

This is what they got for me!

Appears to be totally appropriate to me...

But you are 5 years younger than me too.
